It was one of the first few emails Heather sent me while we were discussing she and Aaron’s wedding day and she sent me an inspiration board of what they have planned for their wedding!!! HOLLLAAA!!  Brides: us photographers LOVE that stuff :)  Heather and Aaron are so stinkin’ cute together.  Like, contagiously, wonderfully, adorable cute and SUPER creative and i cannot even WAIT for their wedding in August!  Introducing:

Heather’s maid of honor and one of my really close/favorite friends, Tara with Smitten Stationary, made this cute bunting for their vintage 1940′s/50′s bikes. 

Now, before we show this sweet picnic, I must tell you that these two ACTUALLY have picnics and ride these bikes ALL THE TIME.  This was not just some random cute idea they thought of, they use all of these things in this shoot on a very regular basis.  Even more incredible for me to document. Oh, and I had nothing to do with this concept, it was all them :)

Ok, just had to get that out.  PHEW.  It’s been almost a whole month since i’ve blogged.  I feel quite a bit out of sorts, but I am SOOO ready to get back to business as usual.. Be prepared for some blog post overloads in the coming weeks!  So, for now, here are some sneak peeks from the past month’s work…

My husband and I dated in high school and have always been close friends. We have now been married for just over 4 years and we’ve been through everything you can think of together.  Every single year has brought life changing moments, giant leaps of faith, and precious moments of joy we find in each other and our son. My best V-Day memory together was our first one as a married couple. We had only been married 4 months :-). We had a “picnic” on the living room floor. I changed the words of the “boy scouts” pledge to something silly and sappy and wore his Cub Scout uniform! His face was classic. We roasted marshmallows over candles (we didn’t have a fireplace), drank champagne, and had the most romantic evening. It was so simple and yet so perfectly matched both of our joy in simply being together- no frills needed. He’s my knight in shining armor and wins my heart over again all the time.

I wish i could have given more time for this giveaway, but i really wanted to have the little goody arrive in time for V Day :)  So, congrats Erika!  email me your address and the delectable box of chocolates will be at your door step this week!

Engagement Sign-In Albums – I also wanted to share my most recent Engagement Sign-In album layout that was designed from Adam and Dana’s engagement photos.  I really think these albums are a fantastic way to display many of your engagement photos, share them with your wedding guests and it makes a great coffee table piece.  The image below is the front cover, so the image is wrapped all the way around.  I wish i had this when i got married!  I just loved the way this album came out and can’t wait to see their guests ooh and ah at how fabulous they look in each shot at their wedding this Sunday, Valentine’s day, in Palm Springs!  Enjoy :)

AND, on a photographer’s note: This was my very first shoot using a 45mm F/2.8 Tilt/Shift lens. What do you think?!  I’M IN LOVE.  Thus, my vow and credo goes:

“I promise to not over-do it with the Tilt Shift lens.  I promise that i will not use this lens for EVERY SINGLE IMAGE.  I promise to use it sparingly and make my assistant rip it from my hands if need-be.” – Jackie Wonders
