I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to you all! I didn’t get to pull off a printed card this year, but I figured going digital is the second best attempt at one :) Thanks to ALL of my awesome couples, families & friends who I had the IMMENSE pleasure of capturing this year through my camera. You’ve made my life and business full, rich and blessed. My family and I are incredibly grateful to you.

And, Since it’s been about 6 months coming, and i have yet to officially announced anything yet here…I’ll do it now – we are expecting Baby Wonders Girl No. 2 early next spring! We are thrilled and cannot wait to be a family of 4! (Even if it is a *tad* crazy to think about!) So, to all of my couples for 2011, don’t worry- i will be the same photographer with or without another child ;)

2011 Is going to be amazing! Merry Christmas!

MINI SHOOTS & NAKEDNESS

I feel naked. down right naked. My computer’s hard drive failed last week and i am without my computer until the end of the month…and i feel like a part of me is gone. How sad is that?! I think it’s good that I’m uncomfortable and out of my routine…it’s healthy and forces me to be flexible. That’s always a good thing, right? (this is where you tell me “YES!”) So, all that to say that i apologize for a lack of posts, but that’s the reason why. womp, womp.

In other exciting news…I’ve decided to offer my first ever mini shoots day! I’m a tad nervous about this since I’ve never done one before, but i know it will all subside once i see my darling clients! These shoots are for ANYONE. couples, singles, kids only or families, etc. It doesn’t matter- come one come all :)

I will be holding mini shoots on TUESDAY, JUNE 15TH, location TBD (but most likely in a grassy/field-like setting). I’m offering a limited number of slots for the day, so if you’re interested, don’t hesitate! Each shoot is $150 for up to 4 people, is 20 minutes long, and includes either 3 downloadable artistically edited images OR a $50 print credit. If you would like to reserve a spot, email me here and I can get you all plugged in.

RICHARD & MARIANNE :: EXPECTING!

I wish i looked like Marianne when i was pregnant. I had to keep telling her to stick out her stomach more because she’s so tiny! I definitely can’t say the same about myself when i was 7 months, HA! Richard and Marianne were little mold-able pieces of clay that let me do whatever i wanted with them…i love that ;) And, for that, i feel like we got some GREAT images for their new little baby girl, Evangeline, to look back on one day. SIGH… Enjoy :)

My favorite of the day!R&M- Being around you two and your love was infectious. I wanted to go home that night and have another baby :) I can’t wait to see Evangeline and how adorable she will be!!! Thank you again for having me there to document a great moment in your lives.

BEFORE AND AFTER WITH RECIPES!

If you are a client, this part of this blog post is her to show you the before and after product, but it is mainly for the photographer friends :)

I don’t know, maybe it’s the artist in me, but I love the artistic edit.. I love making images look fancy and fun and perfect. I have been getting several questions as to what my processing is like, so i thought I’d show some before and afters and share some action recipes! Before i list them out, I do want to say that my raw conversions make a huge difference in the outcome of my images. The images on the left are basically straight out of the camera, except for some exposure tweaks. And, i only use Totally Rad Actions to keep my look consistent and clean. I will use only one color and one black and white recipe for each wedding or shoot so that an album layout will look clean and consistent!

Mike and Stephanie’s recent shoot color mix:

Auto contrast, yin/yang for dodging and burning, pro retouch/eye bump, oh snap 30%, luxe hard 20%, get faded neutral 30%, warm it up kris 40-50%(varies), flatten, boutwell magic glasses 60%, select o pop on eyes(if needed)

Their black and white mix:

Auto contrast, de-toner, yin/yang, pro retouch if needed, Brooklyn b/w 30%, contrast 20-30%, grainstorm, flatten, boutwell magic glasses 60%, burn out 30%, flatten.

Oh my gosh, i have the most beautiful, stylish clients ever. That was my first thought as Mike and Stephanie walked up to meet me for our shoot in downtown La Jolla Cove. Mike, Stephanie and I have worked together before and you can see their super fun shoot here. Their pros now, as you can tell below, so i was aware of their gorgeousness, but seeing them glowing over their soon-to-be daughter, Sienna, added another element for me :)
