I’m SOOOO incredibly happy to finally reveal the new look of my business!!!  I feel so blessed by all of the amazing and loving people God brings into my life, of course, my family is always at the top of that list.  But, more on-topic specifics, the Posh Paperie girls, Elizabeth and Karrie, worked their butts off for me, making sure this brand was perfect.  You 2 know how much i love you, so thank you so much for helping this “child” to finally be born ;)  I am soooo proud of my new brand and logo, that I wanted to share with you the pieces that make it look incredible and where you can acquire some of the goods.  First off, my inspiration.  I OBVIOUSLY love whimsy.  I also love mid-century modern design with vintage accent/flair & color (but also have a soft side too :)  So, what better place to be inspired by than the Viceroy palm springs!  I wanted to keep the feather because when I originally started this re-branding process(over a year ago!), I knew I would always love the symbol of the feather..so that stayed.  You can see why here. A new website and newly designed blog are coming right around the corner, but I couldn’t wait any longer and needed to show off the new look :)

A big part of the inspiration is the hotel featured in this post on The Wedding Chicks.  It’s incredible and if  you’re a bride reading this, who hasn’t booked your venue, I would highly consider it because it’s fabulous.  And, I would love to photograph your wedding there ;)

1. I ♥ This owl wrapping paper from a SUPER cute store in Seaport Village(near downtown SD) called Urban Girl Accessories.
2. I ♥ This sweet teacup from Anthro.  I drink my coffee from it every morning and it makes me happy :)
3. I ♥  This foot and hand cream from Bath and Body Works…it works REALLY good.  like, really good.
4. I ♥ Honest Tea kids organic juice drinks!!!  It has way less sugar than most kids juices and no high fructose corn syrup..and they’re really yummy. Emery likes them too :)
5. Lastly, I ♥ Emery’s Alice in Wonderland pop-up book.  It’s one of the best gifts she’s ever received and it was from her sweet aunties(2 of my bff’s).  I can see her sweet imagination already at work just by looking at it…so, last week, we went and got her the movie!  The cards page (also the book’s last page) is my favorite :)

Ok, just had to get that out.  PHEW.  It’s been almost a whole month since i’ve blogged.  I feel quite a bit out of sorts, but I am SOOO ready to get back to business as usual.. Be prepared for some blog post overloads in the coming weeks!  So, for now, here are some sneak peeks from the past month’s work…

Step 1.  The RAW image

This is an image you will never really see in this state.  All images go thru a special color correction edit where the exposure, warmth, contrast, levels, and more are all adjusted to my customizations.  Because i shoot 100% RAW, i have a TON of flexibility in editing all of my images and never compromising jpg quality over time.  *NOTE: Although I shoot in RAW, it does not give me a “get out of jail free” card.  I try and nail exposure every single click of the shutter to give me the best image possible.  Don’t rely on the RAW-ness, rely on exposure :)

Step 2. The Proof Image

Here is the image after the color corrective process.  One thing i have started doing this year is outsourcing my color correction to Colorati and THEY.ARE.MAGIC.  Ask for Leon, he’ll chat with ya about how they want to help you enjoy life :)  Yes, i could do it myself…or i could go play with my little girl and go to dinner with my husband and let them do it for me…and they are AMAZING and so so fast!  I especially encourage you parents with children to look into their services…they have changed my business and productivity.  So, all of that to say, #2 is the image that I would get back from them.

Step 3. The Artistic Edit

The magic fairy dust that lands on these images is the final touch!  I artistically edit all of the images you see :)  It’s one of my favorite parts of my job..I just LOVE it.  I never use actions at 100%, try to use them sparingly, I don’t throw textures over people’s faces to make them look like they have hosiery on to rob a bank: i try and make people and places look REAL.
