Client FAQ

These are some questions that i receive on a very regular basis.  If there are additional questions that you have that are not on this FAQ, please feel free to email me with them.  Hope we’re a good match!

Q: How would you describe your style of photography?
In a series of words: vintage-modern, fun, romantic and whimsical.  I love bringing out the personalities of my subjects and capturing amazing light in a very artistic way.  Bottom line- i look at every image as a piece of art and hope my clients do as well.

Q: Are you available to travel?
I’m available for limited travel throughout the year as I am a mom and being with my children is my first priority.  However, I DO love love love to travel, so please don’t hesitate to ask!  Travel within San Diego county is included in all wedding collections and sessions.

Q: Do you shoot 100% digital?
Yes, i sure do! I use all professional Canon camera bodies, 5dmkII and 5d, and an array of lenses.

Q: Do you bring backup equipment to weddings & are you insured?
YES!  I have not had to rely on back-up equipment as of yet(knocking on wood!) But, I DO have back up equipment with me at every wedding and shoot and will always have another photographer with me as well.  I am insured with an great plan from Hill and Usher for photographers.

Q: What types of photos will be taken (B/W, Color, Antique Tone,etc..)? I shoot in all color and give you the choice of black and white or antique tone.  If shot in Black and White or Antique Tone, you can not convert to color, so i choose to shoot in all color for that reason :) All proof images in gallery and on DVD will be in color.

Q: Are the digital files included in all of  your collections?
Yes, they are!  As well as 2 photographers :)

Q: We think you’re awesome and we’d love to have you shoot our wedding, what’s next?
YAY!  All you need to do to secure your date is a signed contract and a $500 retainer. Once i receive both in hand, the date is yours and no one else’s (i only shoot 1 wedding per day).

Q: When do you typically hold your Engagement & Lifestyle sessions?
Because i shoot weddings on the weekends and need to spend time with my family when I’m not, i ONLY shoot lifestyle sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays.  I typically shoot in the afternoons- 3pm’ish in the fall and winter months; 5pm’ish in the spring and summer months.

Q: What should I wear to my Lifestyle Engagement or Portrait Session?
Well, chances are i probably don’t know you’re exact style, BUT, what i do know is if you’re interested in my style of photography,  you’re not the matching jeans and black polo shirt type. It’s very 1992 :) I HIGHLY encourage color, even if it’s just in your accessories, and some mild patterns. But definitely outfits that show character and personality and something that you would wear on a regular basis.  You can bring 2 outfits and most couples bring one casual and one smart casual/dressier.  For most sessions and definitely and Engagement Session, i would highly recommend getting your hair and makeup done.  It makes quite a big difference in the photos and helps our features to be brighter and pop more :)  For more ideas on what to wear, feel free to cruise and peruse my Lifestyle Engagement sessions and Portrait sessions on the blog!

*ALSO* Please feel free to bring props!  I love incorporating a fun little scene into a session.  May it be kites, a picnic basket and blanket, books on a blanket, bikes, baskets of fruit or flowers, old vintage cameras…really anything!  If you are a musician, bring your instrument.  If you are a couple that loves to go fishing, let’s take some pictures of that!  Bottom line- let’s capture your love and lifestyle :)

Q: Do you choose the location of our session for us?
Nope!  I leave that decision up to my clients.  You know you’re speed of life, style and comfort zone way more than i obviously do. :)  But, if you need help figuring out where to shoot, then I’ll definitely chime in!
